Hiking in the Wadi's

When we lived in Jordan we spent many weekends hiking in the wadi’s (ravines) of the Jordan Rift Valley. We were really excited to be able to do this again this time with Piper and the Swifts! Many of the wadi’s close at the start of winter due to rainfall up on the escarpment, but there is a nice, wide wadi across from the Dead Sea hotels that you can hike in all year, as it is not prone to flooding.

It was a fantastic time of year to be back in Jordan and the Dead Sea valley. It was perfect weather, very comfortable to hike, and just warm enough to want to splash in the stream after a couple hours. We had such a great time, the girls loved being able to climb all over the rocks and hike through the stream. We had such a wonderful time being outside, hiking through nature with our daughter and our best friends!
